Tales from the Dry Skin Vault

She plopped down on the sofa, immediately kicked off her high heels, and started rubbing her dry, achy feet.

“What’s wrong?” her friend asked.

“My feet are killing me!” she exclaimed.

Her friend raised her eyebrows. “I hate to say I told you so but, I did warn you not to wear those shoes.”

She sighed. “It’s not the shoes. I mean yeah, they didn’t help, but that’s not my problem.”

“Oh? Then what is the problem?”

She pointed the bottom of her feet toward her friend for her to see. “My feet are so dry they are cracked and peeling. Every step I take is excruciating. Heck, just sitting here is excruciating.”

Her friend took a look at her feet and grimaced. “What happened? Is there something wrong with you?”

She laid her feet down on the couch, relieved to finally be off from them. “Nothing is wrong with me. I’ve just been really stressed lately. In an effort to help myself relax, and you know, practice a little self-care, I’ve been taking a lot of baths. Unfortunately, those baths dried my feet out really badly, which led to more stress which led to more baths…you get the point.”

“I guess I understand, but I can’t believe you let it get so bad. Didn’t you try putting something on them?”

“I didn’t have anything to try. This has never happened to me before and honestly; I don’t even know what to put on them. I mean, they’re feet. What do you put on feet?”

Her friend reached into her purse and pulled out a round, metal container. She handed it to her. “What you need is this.”

She took the container and looked at the label on the top: Lavender Lotion Bar.

She looked at her friend. “What’s a lotion bar?”

“It’s lotion in solid form.”

“How is this any different than any of the lotions I can buy in the store?”

“For starters, it’s solid,” she said with a laugh.

She rolled her eyes and tossed a throw pillow at her. “You already told me that!”

She caught the pillow and tossed it back. “The real difference is the ingredients. There are only five, and they are all completely natural and nourishing for the skin. Something you are in dire need of right now.”

She looked at the ingredients list on the label: Organic Shea Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E, and Bulgarian Lavender Essential Oil. “Wow! there really are only five ingredients! How does it work?”

“You take the bar out of the container, warm it up in hands for a few seconds, and then you rub it over your poor feet.”

“That’s it?”

“Yep.”

She opened the container and looked inside. “Aww, how pretty,” she said when saw the flower-shaped bar with lavender petals. “It smells good too!”

“That would be the lavender oil, which is really good for inflamed and irritated skin. In fact, all of the ingredients are good at moisturizing and healing.”

She rubbed the bar on the bottom of her feet, surprised by how easily it went on. She wasn’t sure if she was imagining it, but her feet already seemed to be feeling better.

She was going to hand the container back to her friend when she waved her hand away.

“Keep it. I have others at home. Just make sure you apply it at least two times a day and for goodness sake, stay out of the bathtub for a while!”

“I can’t thank you enough. You are literally my hero! Where can I buy more when I need it?”

“You can go online to jasminefalls.com. They have lots of products, so make sure you check them out. You won’t be disappointed.”

“If all of their products are like this, I’m sure I won’t be!”
